Requirements of conductors of personality assessments

I am quite often involved in discussions regarding airline pilot requirements, and the requirements of directors and managers and so forth. But there are very seldom that there are open discussions regarding behaviour scientists or psychologists or other people that are responsible for personality assessments in recruitment.
But all expertise professions demand special training and an ongoing professional work. You could compare with airline pilots. A very good pilot reaches a high and skilled standard becuase he (or she) has been thoroughly trained and, furthermore, he (or she) has a continuous practice in flying. Is he away from flying for several months he has to work a lot to return to his former standard. Every pilot knows this.
But I have met people, behaviour scientists as well as psychologists, who are normally working within other areas than personality assessments and who only once or twice per year suddenly appear as experts in personality assessments. Then they act as airline pilots that have not flewn for many months. And that is not good enough.
I call for more critical attitudes and open discussions and questions in this very important area! Who are this man or woman that are going to make final decisions about your future professional life?
