I happen to have my office at a so called Office Hotel. It is very convenient and practical. There are around thirty small companies that share the space, each one with one or two rooms of their own. There are six small conference rooms (reservations are needed), one big lunch room, one reception and such things. The landlord cares quite a lot of his guests and has provided the kitchen in the lunch room with frozen food, mineral water, beer and more. Do you want to eat and drink you are heartily invited to pick the things out from the freezer or the refrigerator, but you have to pay a small amount for everything, and you do that by writing your name and your company name on a list and after a while you will become invoiced for the food and the drinks. That is nice. But now and then some people seem to think that everything is for free. They just steal from the kitchen and writes nothing at all on the lists. The receptionist is responsible for everything and has to try to explain for her boss (the landlord) that she is not the thief. Someone else must have taken those boxes and bottles. And she puts up small but very visible notes in the kitchen: please do not do such things. You have to let me know when you provide yourself with the food. And a few days pass and then – a new theft. And another one. And so on. I happen to beleive that we are facing just another symtom of what is wrong with quite a lot of people in the present society. Too many are lacking normal guilt- and shame-feelings. Too many have not yet discovered that life is filled by fences and other borders: don´t trespass! Too many are living in areas influenced by computer games and TV soap operas, where everything seems to be possible and where you, yourself, are the most important person in the world. They are completely lacking situational awareness, which means that they do not understand that we are all brothers and sisters and that we are dependent of each others. This is a very big problem, and I am afraid that it is bigger than you have ever thought about.

Period of transitions
March 21, 2007Winter transforms to Spring. Seeds transform to plants. Darkness becomes light. Some colleagues betray you. Some friends come closer. Some friends from previous times suddenly emerge. Some other friends from previous times turn their back to you. Some clients seek you more eften. Other clients just disappear. I am in the middle of a period of transitions. It aches and provides me with some joy. My family is my anchor and my force. Nothing else is more important in this changing period of my life. Slowly but safely we are moving towards Summer.

We are animals, but are we dogs?
March 10, 2007If you want to train a dog to appear more calm, or to act more aggressive, or to patiently wait to become feeded or whatever you could always try the simple training method: reward the dog for the wished for behaviour and punish him (mildly) for the not accepted behaviour. It has during recent years become quite popular to treat people by almost the same means. CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and other techniques have become very popular. Those techniques are not focusing the complex psychodynamic forces within and in between Humans, and are far from looking at the importance of all things happening in the relation between the patient and the therapist. Woff! Woff!

Conflict activator or avoider?
March 3, 2007Life is beautiful. Life is ugly. Life is nice. Life is a hell. Everything said like that is true. Those people, who are floating around, sensing nothing but peace and calm order, are the skilled conflict avoiders. And the less skilled conflict activators.
Conflict activators?
Oh, yes. Life could not be fulfilled without conflicts as life itself is a continuous violation against all forces that strive for perfect balance and stillness. Just strolling around, doing almost nothing, could be an offense against all those, who want faster speed of life and against all those, who want an exceptional silence and stillness.
If you open your mouth, stating your opinions, you will very soon become singled out as a typical conflict activator.
If you keep low, saying almost nothing at all, you will soon be regarded as the ignorant one, the one that does not care; a typical conflict activator.
Welcome to the show! Join in! Whatever you do and whatever you state you will have your front forward and your back behind, and you will not be loved by everyone.
